I have a real quick question and I was wondering if anyone could help out. My buddy is working on his evo and was looking to remove his rear window wiper to shave some weight, but he doesn't like the look of a cap over the hole in the back window...so would a regular lancer rear window fit in replacement of the stock one for a cleaner look, or will he have to buy an RS back window? More or less, all I'm asking is if the RS back window is the same as a regular lancer one...thanks in advance for your help!

 

Supposidly the glass in the evos is lightweight, Im not sure if its just the front windshield or all the glass though. I know the front is easier to crack than most other cars, so if pretty sure thats true on the front, back window may be the same as a regular car. If the back glass is lighter then you wil just have to deal with the cap, because putting in heavier glass would cancel out the weight savings.

 

That is just a myth and it's definitely not true. The rear window from a base lancer will fit the evo without a problem. The only body pieces that are different on the evo are the rear bumper and rear quarter panels, front bumper, hood, and fenders. Everything else is the same that's why it's called a lancer evolution and not just an evolution.

 

the rear doors are obviously different too... I know the front doors are the same. I was hit by a un-insured motorist and had to find one at a salvage yard. And it fit like a glove.

 

that's wierd cause the windsheilds are different prices with different part numbers. seems like they'd be the same if they're physically the same.

 

So a regular lancer window will fit, right? now back to the special window. Is the evo RS REAR window the same as a regular lancer or is it a lighter weight window then?
