Smile Love my new evo IX!

Driven Subies for last 7 years, finally traded in the WRX for a GG EVO IX. Been loving every minute of it! Sorry I waited this long. Love the WRC scene, so there really wasn't any other car for me! Been enjoying this forum for over a year, extremely helpful, just wish I could post in WTB, I need a used stock gauge kit. Too bad they only put them in the RS and MR, oh well, can't have everything! Glad to be here, just need another 48 posts!

Mike

^^^oh and another good thing to do would to just change all the fluids with stock ones just because theres always metal shaving left from factory pluse the extra metal from break in...especially in your diffs and tranny...but most dont do it till 30k

Wink Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the kind words! Almost hit 6 hundo, time to take it above 5k rpms! Well, ok, maybe I slipped a few times and went higher! Put in k/n drop in and hoping to see some stock gauges go up for sale so i don't have to spend 300 on new ones ( I know they don't look great, and are barely functional, but they give the dash a "finished" appearence, IMO.

Aesthetics are a matter of taste, but the stock gauges' functionality can't be denied. I'm not sure what you mean by "barely functional," but that definitely doesn't describe their operation. Seeing how you want them for decoration, it probably doesn't even matter.

Actually, I don't want them for decoration, I need them for functionality, what I meant to say was that many people complain that the gauges are too small and the boost gauge is on the wrong side. I should have made my self clearer. i stand corrected.

I honestly don't know how anyone short of a Cataract patient can have trouble seeing the gauges. As for their placement, I found that moving the gauge panel to the upper DIN opening helped immensely. I also moved the gauges around the panel (including the boost gauge) to keep the important info in my peripheral vision. Unlike the advice typically posted on the board, having the boost gauge located farthest to the left wasn't optimal for me. You may also find that locating the gauges will depend on your height, the position of the seat, and your preferred outlook.
