dont go back to that shop.

IF they knew it was not on there then, that is why your tune was lean. that is a vacuum AND boost leak as that line goes right to the fuel pressure regulator.

i dont have the slightest idea why anyone would want to disconnect that unless they have some other means to control fuel pressure.

It wasn't lean when he tuned it, I just asked. He told me, he couldn't have tuned it.. . It doesn't make sense. I have driven it like this for over three thousand miles. I have 322whp and 331wtq on a mustang. I don't get it.

I bought a used 03 that had a magnus intake, and when I put the stocker back on, I noticed mine was also missing. I figured it out when I was looking at the vac diagram on the hood, and when I had one extra plug on the wire harness. My father-in-law is a mechanic, and said it wasn't a big deal.

I have had no problems (knock, knock.) Had the ECU flashed by David (with AL's help via email), and my AF's always look good. I never told them it was missing as I didn't find out until after the flash.

Should I also be worried??????

Well, the line that is circled in the pic is the line that feeds the solenoid that then feeds the FPR. The factory procedure for checking the function of the fpr is to measure the fuel pressure at idle, then remove the line that comes out of the solenoid and runs to the fpr. fuel pressure goes up with the line removed since there is no vacume pulling on the fpr diaphram.

So in short, with this hose removed, you have fixed the fuel pressure, it will no longer rise with manifold pressure or drop under vacume.

In my opinion, anyone that would tell you to remove this line is a ****ing tardo.

then again maybee i am the tardo.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I think it's one of those things that look bad on paper? I don't know. I am going to see what I need to do. But, from what I gather. Nothing is wrong with my car. It holds boost, it has the power it was supposed to get from the flash. I can't stand this stuff any more, though. Everything about our cars is controversal. Everyone says something different, everyone. No one has the same opinion on everything. My car hasn't blown up. so. . . i don't know. I bet the guy that took it off, rerouted it, or did something with it. I remember vaguely him doing it and rerouting it or something like that. Someone was standing next to him, who also had an evo, who said he did it on his GT35 set up, or w/e. I don't know. Everyone says something else. But, it was there stock, so I guess I should find out where he put it and put it on, i need to find out if itll hurt my tune, though.

The guy that did that, told me I should do it since I got a 255lph walbro and the fuel pressure changing, like you said, would be controlled. And when I ran higher boost, in the long run, i'd have less chance of knock or whatever, or detonation, since the fuel pressure remains consistent. He also said it was mainly to control gas mileage.

Makes sense. I believe my F-I-L said with it removed, I would always have full pressure. Not sure if that is good or bad.

It's probably not good under conditions with it being untuned, or something like that. But, I've gone a considerably long amount of miles with it like this. I haven't noticed any problems. Do you have any problems? Anything at all?

Nope. I have put about 4000 miles on my car since I got the it in June. I'll have to ask Dan over at BR to look at it and see what he say.

If the guy knew my car was going to blow up. I don't think he would have taken it off, he has nothing to gain by doing it.

Varrious,
I work at a shop here in my city and i will say this once.... Do what you want with your car BUT if you want it to last PUT IT BACK ON!!!!. I have a stage 5 kit from BR, 255lph walbro fuel pump, HKS 272 EX/IN cams, RACE FMIC... all from Buschur Racing. And i know for a fact if you leave it off your car is going to be faster and feel stronger BUT it is going to run lean which will make your ECU try to compinsate and give it more gas.... anyone know what happens to an engine with to much gas and to much air???? i will give you a hint it is the beginning of a classic joke... (knock Knock). Thats a solid fact!!!! But like i said do what you want i am just giving you some friendly advice.

If you want to hurt your engine you could always put Pensoil in your engine and Ethanol in your gas tank!!!

Okay, I don't know where the hose comes from, or came from. He took it off and did something with it, if you could show me where I can find it, to put it back on, I'd appreciate it. I looked all over, I can't find it. If you have AIM, it would be easier to communicate, I just need help finding it. I can't figure out where the hell it is.

Looking at the FPR the nipple is on the intake just to the right and down 2 inches away, the hose is only about 3 inches long.
