Squeeling brake noise (brand new evo MR)

ok lately when i'm going at extremely low speeds. (by low i mean not fast enough for the speedometer to register) and i brake, the brakes make this awful squeeling noise, much like a car would when the pads were warn down.

now when i took it to Mitsu a few days after i bought it to get the Sionize (sp?) wax coat put on, i told them about the problem and requested/demanded they take a look at it.....their response was 'it happens when you get dirt in your pads just power wash it out.' now i've washed my car a bunch of times since then...and i'm almost certain its not dirt and i have power washed my rotors (after they were cool so they don't warp) and still have this problem...

anyone else experience this or have any ideas whats going on?

well its not so much as they lied...as they just don't know anything about the car short of changing the oil etc...their excuse to me about their lack of knowledge was 'people who buy these cars know more about it then we do' which is true but still...they should at least know something lol

and as for not being warmed up...it happens a lot after a drive home not before though

Yeah... it happens when my brakes should be warm already, doesn't really happen on the street, seems to happen when I get home for some reason LOL

Since they are semi-metallic pads, I think the squeeling is normal. Also it seems to be only coming from the front right pad.

try braking extra hard from 60-20mph it will re-bed the brakes and the squeeling noise should go away.

I noticed that on mine too... mostly from the rear brakes while reversing out of a parking spot. I only have 1500 miles right now, but it was doing it around 500 miles. I read in my warranty paperwork that it is normal. Here's the exact wordage:

"You Lancer Evolution uses high-performance anti-fade brake pads to attain stable control during high speed and/or sporty driving. As a consequence, brake noise and dust may occur more easily as compared to a normal passenger vehicle. This is a characteristic of high-performance brakes."

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Did you bed them in?

Bed-in (what I use for my Satisfied pads):
10: 30mph to 10mph moderate braking then let cool for 15 mins
5: 50mph to 10mph hard braking then let cool for 30 mins
Full bed-in first ~1000 miles

I only get squeal on cold days when the pads are not hot at all. Other than then - no squeal, and these are track pads.

I think this is a very commen thing for what would be considered racing brakes. Which Brembos are. They just need more time to warm up and need some hard braking to help not just cruising around and slowing down. If they aren't making the noise when you are braking hard and they are warmed up you have nothing to worry about.

Its normal. Its funny though, I have about 7500 miles and was expecting them to squeal as I've read on this forum, but it has never done it. Maybe something is wrong with mine?
