why would you need a tune if you took your stock airbox out and put in a pipe and filter?
Wouldn't the MAF read the additional air and apply the needed fuel?

would do people suggest a fuel pump on the IX?... i heard its not needed if your staying under 350whp.... and why also the suggestions for an mbc?? if the ecu flash controls the cars boost, then u dont need an mbc, maybe just a boost guage if you dont have an mr... im personally going with works drop in filter, works tbe, and the works p2 flash... a guy just got 300 whp with this setup and thats on a mustang dyno which runs low compared to dynojets...

How many different threads are you guys going to ask the same questions in? Do a freaking search. Or... Just go buy an Injen intake and HKS SSQV. I'm sure you'll be happy with that.

I would think so, since our cars don't respond to intakes too well.

Dont do anything to the intake tract (intake, larger front mount, lower IC pipe, etc.) unless your planning on doing a tune. If your in the Norcal area vishnu is expensive, but will get you the best power gains. WORKS is a great company from what i hear, but they're tunes are a little on the conservative side from what ive heard. They specialize mainly in road course events, so thats what they tune their cars for. While Vishnu does great in road courses, but their tunes seems to produce more power. Thats what ive heard and what ive read at least. But search and you will find more.

Okay, I'll stop trying to confuse the newbs. Do NOT get an intake. They provide no real gains and are rediculously expensive. The only time you need to upgrade the intake is if you are going for over 400+whp. Otherwise the stock one provides no real restrictions. Also aftermarket intakes will confuse your MAF signal because of turbulant air and make your car run less optimally. Plus you are sucking in hot air from the engine bay, instead of cooler outside air from your stock box and snorkle.

Best bang for buck: Warrtalon package.
Aka: MBC, TBE, tune.

After that you can look into things like LICP, cams, 10.5 hotside (for 03s and 04s), O2 housing etc. For the 8 get a walbro 255lph. It's not necessary for the 9.

edit: FP comes with the Warrtalon package for the 8 and not for the 9, so that's taken care of there.
