Hello from Italy

Hi guys, i'm the lucky owner of a 8 MR RS, i'm italian, live in Italy, but happy to join the most important american EVO forum. Even if the european evo owner usually goes to british or japanese market for tuning parts i bought several times from american sites. Actualy my car mount a "full race" gt35r kit lightly modified. All internals for stroker engine provided by that kind person that is Carmela Jackson of "jackson auto machine". Other parts comes from slowboy( but this is my bad american experience, cause after 1 year i'm still waiting some parts($2000)). Anyway my EVO is in evolution with AP racing brakes and a Torqueline carbon driveshaft and many other nice stuff.

I hope you'll excuse my school learned english.

Auguri dagli Stati Uniti! Benvenuto!

I live in San Antonio, Texas but have lots of relatives in Italy. My dream was to be able to ship my car over there someday and enjoy the driving in Umbria where I've visited often as a kid.

Enjoy the car, you're in the right place for it!

Tony

I payed for more than $6000 but i'm still waiting for remaining items.
The nice thing is that they don't reply to my emails too. And if i give a call they hang up the phone. Really a nice service. In Italy with this kind of people i use my brother (you can see him in the avatar with his tools)
Anyway i'll open a thread about these gentlemen.

Non so se apprezzano che si parli in italiano su di un forum americano.
So I'm from milan but i'm married with a girl from Carsoli (AQ) just near Rome. You'll remember for sure. I was in rome during miliary service, even if i spent more time in Somalia.

You are right about the Italian but I could not resist. Work brings me here but I also was luck to buy a lance evo8 US. Not sure where Carsoli is my family is from Settebagni.

How much does an 8 MR cost in Italy now. I only remember when you could get a few 6's trough Switzerland.

Settebagni is in the north of Rome. Carsoli if 65km from Rome but in Abruzzo. The first little town in Abruzzo.
About EVO in italy the things are lightly different. All th cars are more expensive in Italy. Now that the real JDM evo 9 MR is to be released in europe, for an evo 9 you can spend about 35000€ = 44000$
The american car market is a "bengodi" for traders.

I'm sicilian, good to have a fellow italian around! What is an MR RS, is it a different lineup for you over there? Or is it like an RS with MR equipment??

HI, my father too was from sicily (Palermo). In italy we recive a lhd different from the one for the America market. Your MR is like japanese and european GSR version. The MR RS has the light chassis, rear mechanical diff, no AC, etc..., but have the some improvement of the mr version. Like 5 layer head gasket, different turbo, double solenoid, Al roof, etc... But it's remain an RS version, so ready to by modified to Group N car.
This is the version for real male (How you say "DURI E PURI" in English)

You are a lucky guy, so now you know 2 languages. I study many years to speak this lousy english.
I'm very happy to meet so many italian (sicilian) guys on Amerian land. Nobody owning a sledge-hammer that lives near Slowboy racing headquarter?
