Evo IX's ride feel..

I don't own a evo neither have i drove one but plan to have it soon. One of my concerns is how the ride feel. I have read from magazines and online reviews and the con seems to be harsh ride..

Anyone can comment more on this ?

Its not a luxury car ride but its not harsh. Just depends on what you are used to. I used to have a dsm that I had lowered with KYB struts so I was already used to a stiff ride.

If your worried about the harsh ride, get the MR as it has a softer riding suspension.

The seats make every thing feel just fine.

Most suspension upgrades are meant for better handling so they will in turn give you a harsher ride. You could try to see if Tein has the High Tech line of springs for the evo.

i took one for a test drive today. to give you an idea where i'm coming from, i drive a civic si right now that is lowered 2" on neuspeed springs (pretty rough). the ix seemed to be firm, but nowhere NEAR as bad as my car....still no caddy though.

The ride of the stock Evo is so much better than my Tein c/o lowered RSX. Yes it's harsh (plenty of european cars have a stiff ride) but it's the handling that'll make up for it.

I test drove a IX several months ago and I thought the ride was much softer than my 03.

My advice would be just get the car, because once u get in it and romp on her a little, your not gona give a S*** how rough the ride is, your prolly gonna out and get a nice set of springs/coilovers and make the ride even harder eventually anyway! lol FTW

BTW if your like wtf this dude doesn't even own an evo, don't worry i work on/drive/breathe, these cars lol

I dont know why people have this misconception that coil overs give your car a harsh ride. Thats the same as saying that an AEM EMS gives your car sh!tty drivability. Its just how well you have your coil overs set up, you should be able to get a better ride than stock.
