New Evo Driver...

Hey Guys/Gals- I just picked up my '03 Apex Silver Evo VIII 4 weeks ago and its awesome! I have never owned an AWD before and its fun! The only option on the car is the sunroof, it has the small wing so if you wanna trade me for my small wing and you have the big wing let me know...BTW im in the Detroit area. Cheers!

Military? I was hoping you were going to say he was some old fart that went through a short midlife crisis. Usually those guys are too scared to really drive the Evo hard. Not too shabby for an '03 though.

Hahaha unfortunately I'm not a teenager. Amazing how many teenagers you see on the board driving an evo.

Thats exactly what i was thinking was how are these young kids affording an EVO? I work my tail off to afford it and it just puzzles me to find out that either mom and dad paid for it or a rich realitive did...man how lucky are the kids today!

Im guessing mommy and daddy helped out a little with the teenagers driving Evolutions.

Wanna hear about a mid life crisis...my dad went out and spent 30k on a 84 911 Turbo Porsche. And then restored it to showroom conditions...so thats another 15k and he bough it this year at the age of 57.

And for your young man...I got my MR last year and can't count the number of times I've pinged the rev-limiter. You sure wouldnt want to buy my car!

I'm 60 and I just got back from a 1000 mile road trip that started Thursday in the rain. I drove interstate the first 300 miles with the windshield wipers on high. At one point a red SUV came through the truck fog and tried to occupy my space. I took to the shoulder. If I'd been driving an old person's Buick it would have been a minor accident or worse.

If I'm in a midlife crisis the problem seems incurable. I've been driving high performace cars for the past 28 years. But I think I just want to drive the best car on the road for the money and for me that is the Evo.
