usually i've seen 4.5 for the IX's. not sure what model that is though...i'd imagine the RS to be quicker since the VIII RS could do it in 4.4...maybe the IX RS is 4.3 or 4.2

but around mid-4's is a pretty good guess. of course even if the car could do it most of the time the driver can't.

FWIW, MT pulled a 4.3sec 0-60 in a 05 RS:

In theory, a IX should be even quicker. Realistically, though, I'd guess a non-launched 5.5sec 0-60, as I've never timed it.

Yeah, agreed. if you have a warhouse full of spare transmissions. For all the talk of how fast the EVO and STI are, it's important to remember that most of the stellar times they obtained are done becuase the driver doesn't own the car. Line up a rear drive performance car and an EVO/STI on a quarter mile track and see how many runs you can get at full throttle before one of them breaks. I've never viewed these cars as drag cars even though they are capable of impressive times.

It says you own a IX. Go outside and try it. That will give you your answer

I made 30 full-throttle, sub-2 sec 60' in one day... drove home fine.

Didn't I say something similar? At least I thought I did, which is why I posted a radically different estimate relative to MT's number.

+1 It's because they're not drag cars, but drag racing is usually the only sanctioned motorsport that many Evo owners have the skill (or its lack thereof) to compete in. Drag racing is also encouraged by the Sport Compact crowd and that's where many owners are oriented.

When I hear 0-60 discussions it sends shivers down my spine. It's something that rich old men talk about, who own cars and don't drive them. Or young boys who read magazines all day, and bench race it was me, not long ago.

You can rip your clutch, bounce of the rev limiter and bang the gears all you want to get that extra .2 second.

Honestly, 0-60 times are useless. Drag strip is a much better representation of your car, and it's safer and affordable $20 per day.

And sadly, when people race on the street (not that it's a good idea) no one stops at 60mph. For some reason people feel it's safe to hit 100mph on 35mph streets...LOL, must be adrenaline.

So even if you rip of the line and own a mustang, he might eventually catch up and pass you after 60. Seeing a modded EVO hit 124+MPH trap speeds at the drag strip, really puts a huge smile on my face. That's supercar territory. 505HP Z06 stuff.

I think a shopping cart parked on a rail road track, getting hit by a speeding freighter will accelerate 0-60 faster then any other car you can buy. But what's the point?

If my shopping cart has a blow off valve, will it accelerate even faster?
