hehe, why do some people get so offended about having a TT? I bought my turbo timer as a package along with my VTA HKS SSQV and K&N Typhoon Intake. >=P

Because it's really not necessary to have one.

Yeah I know.

I agree it's not absolutely necessary, but it's so cheap, why not? It's a good piece of mind and it does'nt hurt your car. It's like the walbro fuel pumps. With a TBE, it's not NECESSARY, but it's a nice little piece of mind to have and it's only like 90 bucks. So why not? I figure if you can afford a $30,000 car, you can afford a $90 turbo timer and a $90 fuel pump.

The thing is you dont have to wait because you DONT boost into you parking spot or garage. You likly go slow in you neiborhood and that is enough cool down time.

I used to have a TT for all those peeps think Im hating or something. I took it out and sold it.

Methodical4u, your next couple mods should most likly be...

1)MBC or manual boost control - 80-100$

2)A mail-in relash - 199-400$

3) An E-Flash ( buy the traxtic cable (90$), download ECUFlash (Free) and buy an E-Flash. Jestr and TTP sell ones for 50$. Total- 140$

I agree that the TT is piece of mind. The benefits far outweigh the risks of not having one, so why not? I would rather assure proper cooling of my turbo, even if I didn't boost into my garage.

I have the HKS, which offers far more features than a simple TT. It has a shift indicator (light and sound), I can track my 0-60 times, my volts, and more. The HKS also reads off of the computer and automatically adjusts how much time is necessary for a proper cool-down, based on your RPM's. Other units read off of your actual boost, which I am told may not be as accurate. My bro just bought an Evo IX SE and already ordered his HKS TT. I've had no problems after 3 years. Good luck and congrats on your purchase!

Why not an electronic boost controller? Are you say on the 2nd and 3rd to either get a mail in reflash or the E-flash... or both? Anyone have a link for this E-flash? I've never even heard of it.

Look around in the Dynoflash section of the forums. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in there.

You can get a EBC if you like but MBC are more common. You dont have to get either, a flash can control boost to some extent.

Go to the "ECUFlash" forum in the engine managment forum. Here is a thread of all the available E-flash vendors.

To explain what ECUFLash is here. The traxtric cable links your laptop to your car. The ECUFlash program flashes your car. An E-Flash is a flash sent to you in an email, then you use the cable and program to flash it to your car.

Some people use USB cords with really long extensions.
