considering 03 Evo 8

i have been wanting an Evo since they came out in 03 but i have never been able to afford one up until now.
Is there anything i should consider first before buying an 03 model?
i heard about broken transer casings from clutch dumping as well as rumors of it having a poor clutch. Is there anything else about the car that may make it more questionable before purchasing? i know about the positives..but i'd like to hear more about the negatives and the little 'surprises' that may arise when owning the 03 Evo.Any tips concerning maintainence and care for the car would also be appretiated
thanks a bunch, this looks like a really cool site!

Trnsfer cases are teh suck, clutch is the suck. Perform boost leak tests on teh regular. The stock gasket between the turbo and the outlet pipe likes to go out. Other than that a pretty solid car. Mine goes to AMS in January for a full build. low 10's high 9's here I come....lol

I have a 03 with 36,000 miles. I drive it like i stole it, clutch still good, tranfer case still good. The only problem i came across was the rotors being wrapped. 3 sets, until i bought e-bay slotted and drilled, its been perfect ever since. I wanna say thanks to ebay and SAINT 883
