rev limiter?
HA, thats a good bit of information to know...thanks alot now i wont feel like a fawkin idiot ricer out in the parking lot of my barracks trying to find the damn 2-step anymore lol
The term 2-step is used loosely when referring to the Evo's stationary limiter. It is in fact a fuel cut that limits the revs while the car isn't moving. An actual 2-step is ignition based. And, since the Evo's limiter isn't ignition based, it doesn't shoot flames.
An Evo will shoot flames on decel if you dial back the timing, but there is really no purpose for doing that other than to shoot flames.

Stock Rev limiter is 7600 RPMs. The standstill stock limiter (commonly referred to as the 2-step) is set at 5000 rpms. You can have the car flashed, and change those parameters, or you could buy a tactrix cable, and ecuflash and do it yourself. I recommend using TTP to flash, if that's all you're doing cause he does a good job, and is REALLY cheap, like $50 if you have a cable. Most recommend setting the rev limit to 7800, and the 2-step to 5500.
is this standstill rev limiter on all of the IX's or just the MR? and im guessing this would be used if launching, how bad would it be to bounce it off this?
