The VIII MR's have the standard cloth Recaros. The IX's have the Alcantara seats with the suede inserts. The one listed here is an VIII. There's no way that an VIII MR came with leather from the factory.

 

Alcantara are the insert's there not suede,it's some kind of man made material the rest is leather,plus i was talking about my IX MR not the VIII.

The leather on a MR was not even an option. You could talk to the dealer to break down the SSL pacakge to just the leather seats but many dealers refused to do this arguing that they would only sell the leather as a SSL package.

Then it's not an MR.

MRs have alcantara trimmed seats. And no the fact the outsides of the seats are trimmed with vinyl does not make them leather.

Sometimes I wonder how many people here actually own the cars they claim they do.

Yeah sounds like the seller has no idea what he's talking about. SSL is the sunroof, leather seats, the infinity sound system ( all of which he lists ). Maybe he doesn't know what the difference between bilstein and regular shocks are. IF it is an MR, you wouldn't want one with a sunroof, unless they actually strengthened the roof to handle the stresses from the missing metal.

Does an Evo come with side airbags? I'm pretty sure those aren't there. But he lists that also as something the car has.

I'll go with the guy has no idea what he's talking about, that is just a GSR, and that's that. And why would he sell it for 4k under book?

Somehow the guy managed to purchase a special MR with the SSL package? Sounds like a load of crap to me.

There is a possibility that he could've purchased the seats from a SSL owner. There is also the possibility that this seller purchased a GSR w/ SSL package and merely threw on the Bilstein shocks he purchased from a MR owner.

The latter sounds more feasible to me.

 

BTW, in Australia, we get Evo IXs with Leather (and theyre recaro seats is embroided) and the 6 speed, bilstein shocks, the good audio system. but we get aluminium bonnet and roof, hence no sunroof option.

but its NOT an MR. its still a GSR. so make no mistake, you can option a GSR with all of the above, or a dealer can, one way or another.
