have you even thought about the fact that the Evo engine is set up for a all wheel drive car and our lancers are only a front wheel drive car??the big question you should really be asking is "is it really worth it to try and put that motor into a lancer" because you will have to do more than just a transplant...there is the whole tranny to think about as well...it may be easier to search for a front wheel drive engine with more HP to transplant...there are many members here looking into just that very thing...search the forums and keep hopeing someone can find a transplantable engine

 

The answer is no. The only way it would work is to change practically everything. The cost to do so would be higher than that of an EVO.
