And on a completely unrelated note, the GMC dealer in Carson City has a used 2005 Bentley Continental GT sitting on their lot. What's up with that?

welcome, and I really enjoyed your first post.

Are you planning on tracking the car or doing any mods?

Nice write up, and welcome. Don't worry about feeling old - I sold an MR to a 60 year old almost 2 years ago.

Welcome.. No matter how much people say go EVO.. I would buy a M5 in a heartbeat if I had the dough. I hate going to social functions with the Evo. That wing just sticks out like a sore thumb. The M5 on the other hand Luxury and Performance You cant go wrong! Again Welcome to the Dark Side.... Let the modding begin(screw the warranty).

An auto dealer can buy any car he wants to resell, it doesn't have to be a trade in. It could have been owned by the owner and now he's selling it on his own lot. Many dealers are multi millionaires so having a Bentley that selling Hyundais, Kias or whatever earned you is no big deal. Getting tired of it and moving on to something else on a whim isn't either.

Try it, you'll change your mind. Sure, they're not worth the money, but damn if they aren't a great place to spend some spare time!

To the OP, thanks for the cool writeup, and congrats on your purchase!

Great writeup dramsey! The Evo is definately a driver's car. Stay away from new headers though. These cars are turbocharged so replacing the exhaust manifold is quite an undertaking. The best way to go on the Evo IX is replacing the exhaust from the turbo back to the tip. Start with a new downpipe, high flow catalytic converter, and a new cat-back exhaust. Get an ECU flash and dyno tune and you'll be over 300awhp.

I'll almost certainly do some simple mods, although probably not until the spring.

Tracking? Depends on what's available in this area. My Bondurant course was a long time ago...

The M5 would have been more tempting had I not already had the RL. While not at the M5 level, it's still sufficiently ritzy to take almost any place.

Welcome to the club.

I was about 30 minutes from getting an 05 E46 M3 or possibly a low mileage 02 M5 and decided to stop by and see what the Evo had to offer.

Once I drove it - I was hooked.

Congrats on your purchase and enjoy it old man.

Hah!

ps - you're going to have every racer boy pulling up next to you and wanting to race.
