Out with the Z in with the E

Whats up everyone. Man newbie cant even express how new I am to this platform. I just finished parting out my last project a 2003 350z Twin Turbo. Now I am selling the car itself. I have been looking at all types of cars to replace it. I went to the local carmax since they have so many models and you can test drive them all back to back. Low and behold there was this beautiful Black IX sitting there. I have seen plenty of evo's alot of my car club team mates have them. I never really thought too hard about buying one. Needless to say I test drove it and immediately fell in lust with this car. I drove it home that day. It had 10,000 mi on it and I am sure I payed way to much for it but I had to have it.

Now that I have been driving it for a few days I want to start learning about this car and its potential. Like I said before I had a pretty highly modified Z and all I have been doing for the last 3 + years is learning the ins and outs of the VQ Engine. Now I have this car that I have no idea about. Hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction as to where I should start with mods. Or at least where in this forum I should start searching and researching.

Here are some examples of my 350Z Project:

http://users.braemarnet.com/thesantiagos/jordanz.htm -OR- http://www.jtuned.com/content/templa...d=410&zoneid=1

I pretty knowledgable with JDM parts and manufaturers etc. . . but I know there are some pretty crazy aftermarket parts made by some us companies for the EVO. I hope to find in this forum the right direction to go.

Anyway, I am looking forward to this project and I absolutely love the EVO. I hope to talk and learn from everyone here. I havent noticed a regional forum for like the mid-atlantic folks if there is a seperate forum for Northern VA Evo owners please let me know.

Thanks,

BLKIX

wow...that was your car...i can't believe you got rid of it..anyway the evo is a lot different...my brother owned a 300zx and my friend has a 300zx twin turbo....to me the main difference is the handling of the evo....it is a lot better to me...especially on different types of roads.(dirt, gravel, in the rain or snow) because of the all wheel drive....the z's can spin out easily if you step on it but the evo just sticks to the road and takes off...i'm kindof new to the evo too...i drove it and i thought it was the best car i've ever driven so i had to have it

absolutely. The EVO all around has been so much fun to drive even in its stock condition. The only thing I wish I would have done more research on is the MR. I miss the six speed.

really the six speed is only useful for interstate/daily driving and such....pretty much everyone that races or whatever has the 5 speed

Congrats and welcome! The 350z was sweet! I love em! Anyways... Im glad you got the 5 speed. The 6 speeds, from what i have read on here, are weak once you put some power to it. Just take care of it and look forward to seeing the finished project. If the Z is any sign the Evo should look amazing after your done with it!

first of all..welcome.

That is one sexy Z you got there.

BTW, you made the right choice in getting a evo.
There are so many things you can do to an evo it's crazy.
Have fun with your new toy man.

I cant stop saying this but...that Z is Sick

The good thing about our cars is that is powered with an engine that has been improved for over 15 years unlike the Z which is still new to me and its true potential is still an enigma. So in conclusion, the evo has a bigger marketplace than many other cars out there plus tuners from all-over the world have put all of their knowledge into the creation of quality products specifically for this vehicle.

Whether you're cruising around town in the snow or beating the s*** out of it on a rally course, the evo will always leave you with a big smile on your face...unless you blow up the engine of course.

P.S: Oh yeah 06 evo IV FTW!!!
