whats up guys i currently have a 2002 wrb wrx with the pretty much normal stage 3 set up. turboback, fmic, intake ect....I hang out alot on NASIOC forums. i do alot of autocrossing and after i put coilovers and suspension on my car i still was not satisfied. so i decided to sell my car and buy an evo. after i test drove a 9 se i knew that it was perfect for what i did. but the price is what i did not like. they were going for about 33k and thats way out of my price range. Buying a used evo is also an option if i can find out with low miles. what do u guys think about the older models. even without the ACD. i really want the ACD cause it seems neccesary. The MIVEC is what i really like. the new 9's seem to make so much more power then the 8 which is a big deal to me.
im open to any sugestions that u guys can give me to suit what i want to do.
what should i do. EVO 9 or EVO 8. are they REALLY that much different?
my old car
now has STI wing

Never drove an evo 8, but I the IX is great. I got mine yesterday and already put over 70 miles on it
I had a 2004 STI at one point. I like the evo quite a bit better though I already miss my little s2k.

What exactly is your budget?
Check out the prices offered by South Coast Mitsubishi:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=233222
- they have brand new Evos starting as low as $26,999.
You would have to either fly out and pick it up, or have it shipped to you though. If you go with their shipper DAS (iffy at best, my experience with them wasn't the greatest, but others have been just fine), the local terminal is in downtown Pittsburgh so it would be easy for you to pick up.
Anyway, hope you can find something to fit your budget. I got my Evo this past spring and haven't regretted it once.
