ok you have a lot to learn. i learned everything from either being on here a lot or by talking to guys in my local shop and i learned how engines work in my ap physics class lol (had to type a 3 page paper on how engines worked) anways if you want a basic explination then check out howstuffworks.com. if you want a list on mods you should do first this is what is most done on evo VIII's i dont know about evo IV's and i have no idea how you got one but anyways.
go with full tbe, get rid of your bov and get a recerculating diverter valve. get fuel pump cams headstuds then look at turbo upgrades that usually come with exhuast manifolds dp's intercooler pipes ect. after that get a new fmic and if you want to run good numbers on pump get meth injection. i think ams put one of their turbo kits on an evo V or VI or something so i am sure if you call up one of the more well known tuners like ams or buschur they could point you in the right direction for your goals. i think that the evo IV still has the engine mounted rotated 180 degrees away from where it is now which is like what the dsm's used to have so just check out tuners that were good with dsm's like ams and buschur and get some info and enjoy the car. you have an awsome uncle btw
