Exclamation Discrete upgrades?

Well, ive been searching for some low priced upgrades for my 2002 ES Lancer and I was just wondering if there are any out there that wont make me look like im trying to show off my lancer. I mean, there are a lot of ppl here at my school who soup up their CRX's and Civics and stuff and they run thru the parking lot trying to show off thier cars or whatever. Some of their cars dont sound that good heh, but that's just my opinion and im still a noob. Anyways, I was hoping that there was something I could get to increase my HP by maybe 20 or so, and wont make me look like a wannabe. Is that even possible? But i mean, a little bit of noise is ok, but just a little more than what that the stock models make would be cool.

Start with an intake, then go for exhaust.

header, SRI, plugs, wires, synthetic oil, and a carefully chosen exhaust will get you some power and if you get the right exhaust noise won't be much of an issue.

I put a RMR intake on my car and that made my car sound really good.
it was not over the top, and it is very understated.
If you want it even louder than that I would go with an axle back exhaust

a larger throttle body will help alot too and not make too much more noise
