Back spin can be heard, but usually it's a result of having an aftermarket BOV installed and not adjusted properly. What other mods do you have?

Turbo backspin is a byproduct in the buildup of boost pressure not having anywhere to go when quickly letting off the accelerator. Having no where to be released it goes back into the turbo. The diverter or blowoff valve is meant to keep this from happening.

If you hear it than it's not normal. Check your BOV to make sure it's installed and working properly.

Like everyone said, double check your tubing... also... I hope you have a boost gauge, because a boost controller without a gauge is just silly

I've seen guys put the stock BOV in backwards and it reacts exactly as your saying. Let us know what you find.
