Just saying hi with a few questions :)

Okay first off I want to say hi to everyone on here, by the end of the summer I will be making a purchase on a vehicle. Now I know I may get some biased opinions but I posted the same question over of the WRX forums. I'm going to ethier be getting a WRX STi or an EVO VIII. I was wondering if I could get some feedback from someone who has driven both cars and compare them. I'm just curious as to which has more potential to be more powerful. Also if anyone has pictures of a silver evo could you post a few because that would be the color I want. Sorry my answers aren't more specific but in just getting into this whole car thing so I'm still learning but I read these forums like everyday.

To tell ya the truth....a lot of mags right now have the both pitted against each other and in every mag I have seen it's been the same response almost down to the letters...there is hardly a difference when it comes down to 1/4 mile....something like .3-.5 seconds

If you want raw power and don't mind the missing items...go with the STI

If you want an all around excellent car with awesome preformance...go with the EVO.

I personally have not driven a STI but I have seen one. IMHO I don't think it's that great. I have been following the EVO for years, even had an ex-fiancee that had a 2000 Mirage we were converting to an EVO VI , but now I actually own one . I must say I LOVE the interior of the EVO and honestly did not like the interior, especially the dash layout (guages were nice though) of the STI and the seats IMHO felt very poor . Plus with the long time running of the 4G63 engine there WILL be mass parts for it SOON, honestly don't know much about the STI engine and the parts available for it. Only things I wish the EVO did have is Cruise Control, AYC, and 6 Speed Tranny . Other then that.....I think it is truely AWESOME....still puts a smile on my face.

Yea I've been looking into the EVO's a little more for the past few hours and I think they are starting to win me over. They're 2k cheaper, the yellow EVO looks sweet! . I just hope I can still find the car at the end of summer.

I also have another question. If I do go through with getting an EVO how hard do you think it would be to get one in the color and with the options I want? I mainly just want the wing and sunroof so I dont think that it would be to hard to get those. Or would I be better waiting off for a 2004 and putting in a deposit for the specific one I want.

Check out the Regional forum...for DC, MD, VA they had a dyno day and took lots of pictures of various colored evo's...I think the only one not pictured is the yellow one.

I'm not sure that will work...so here's the thread :Regional Forums :: US Regional Forums :: Mid-Atlantic Region :: Altered Atmosphere Dyno Day Pics!

I'm sure you can take it from there

Oh...and as for getting the evo that you wanted I know the dealer in Tyson's corner had 3 on the lot the other day, I'm sure its possible to get the one you want...they actually had a silver with a sunroof and a wing (I think thats a popular one) and since the big wing is standard that shouldn't be hard to find... Or you could always wait for the 2004 if you can...to see what changes/corrections they make...

HAVE you seen the STI...I saw a test one...and the scoop looks down right silly (in my opinion...) I'd definatly vote for the Evo!!!!!
