wow you people hate to have a disagreement, and can't settle it without taking it over board a evo now a days you can tell its a evo from a mile away. but now you are going to have to wait untill you get up on it to make sure its not a regular lancer. thats all i'm saying, there is no mistaking the two. and i was going off of the article that said it was the evo, the whole forum is about furture evo models. so year people are going to post the same stuff over and over there is only so much that could be posted here. i was looking to see if someone posted this article. if its a repost move on you don't have to read it. and whats the big deal, is there a number of threads thats aloud to be started every month. are we over the limit.

 

cause youre calling a lancer an evo... when there are many differences...

look at the sti and wrx they look more similar than the evo and lancer. yet i doubt any1 has a problem telling them apart without looking at the wings.

the evo X looks way different to the picture you posted. anyone with basic car knowledge will pick a X.

if they cant tell the difference, for example with current IX or wrx/STI, then these are the mass public, who enthusiasts dont give a rats about anyway.

you just posted the wrong car dude, thats all.

 

go to lancerproject.com and see them sitting next to eachother then come back and tell me that they are really different, i'm talking styling, not mechanically, everyone knows thats going to be a hugh difference.

and yes thats part of the problem with wrx and sti, and what made the evo another step above a sti.

the only part from a evo that would fit on a lancer is the gas cap i really don't know
but now it looks like of a lot of things are interchangeable, the headlight are the same housing, same tails, one wing has dimples one doesn't, 20s are just for the show, so i really don't know what you are talking about its totally different

Are you sure about that, because I have an EVO IX RS and people often mistake my car for a modded Lancer. I had a Civic SI trying to run me the other day, he got to my side and took off, as soon as he saw my front end, he slowed down and fell way back, guess I was scary .

How can people say that it's hard to tell the EVO X from the regular 08 Lancer, it's easy, you just have to know what u're looking for. It's the same with the EVO 8/9 and current lancer. I remember one time at a light this kid with an RSX asked me if my Ralliart was an evo, so I smiled and asked him if his RSX was a Honda Integra, he said no it's an Acura RSX and that Honda doesn't make Integras it was Acura who made them...

mitsubishi have most likely made many interchangeable parts. shared componentry is common place, even with platforms shared on other cars. i totally see where you are coming from, you're just saying, the two cars look "basically" the same.

but, the EVO is different enough for those who can tell, and this is enough for most EVO buyers i would say. really the current lancer does not look all that different to its performance sibling, just look at all the wannabe EVO lookalikes out there.

 

For a Lancer, this isn't half bad. I like it much better than the current base Lancer. Give that.

Oh, and I've never read a thread that said so much but meant so little.
