Tough decision. Need some help.

I finally have the oppurtunity to either finance a 2006 Mitsu Lan Evo IX GSR for $25k with $0 down with only 5k miles or finance a 2006 BMW M5 for $86k with $10k down with only 112 miles. I drove both of them but still cant make up my mind. The thoughts that go through my mind are resale value, reliability, and maintence. I gotta new job and its time to up grade from the old 4dr SVT focus.

Why not get the mitsu and put the 10k.. down on it

That way you will save more in the financing..

Exactly my thoughts as well..

Plus as a total number of dollars the m5 probably will loose more resale value over time vs the evo. Even if its worth 50k 5 years from now the most the evo will drop is probably 10k..

Thats a 25k difference in money :P

86K for a car.. that you can get the same performance out of an EVO 25K.. and you have to figure out what choice to make.. ??? I think it's obvious.. why pay more.. I dont care if you got a new job or not.. Do you realize how much 86K really is especially after interest.. Dude.. seriously.. You said your concern is "resale value, reliability, and maintenance" Resale Value.. ha ha.. Good luck trying to get 86K back from that M5 in 1 year.. I promise you that it will drop down faster than the Evo by far. Reliability, Evo's as well as M5's are reliable cars.. , Maintenance.. You better bet that the M5 has a much higher maintenance cost, considering the parts alone are going to kill you.. Evo's are not cheap either but considering you can actually afford a 86K car.. I doubt it's nothing you can't handle.. the fact remains it's cheaper to own an Evo.

I think this is clear as day.. Good luck

are you a balla? or are you a car fanatic. Don't try to mix the two up, you'll only confuse yourself and everyone else around you.

Well I am not exactly a baller but I do pretty well. I dont own a home, still renting a halfway decent apartment with the wifey. No kids. No student loans or CC debt. I have been looking at the m5 ever since I can remember. The Evo Lan just kinda filled a gap because of the price and how easy it was to modify to get more horsepower. I'll sleep on it for another week or so. But in the end life is to short. Thanks for the input.

Sounds like you already have your mind made up!

Dont settle for the Evo because it fills the gap, but dont go spending outside of your means either remember what you will be paying for parts, service, and aftermarket goodies(if thats even what u will do)

what are you looking for in your future car, if your a tuner the Evo is more bang for your buck in the future as well....but if your looking for heated soft leather seats, cruise control and woodgrain then by all means go with the M5

good luck to you.

If you can accommodate the expenses of an M5, theres no questions about it..

+1 to that..
although you can be both, if you got it.
