Running Rich! help ....

hey guys .... I recently did a dyno pull and had a lambda sensor hooked up ....

My AFRs read 7.5 !!!

upon some investigation, we found the problem to be the fuel pressure regulator that was set too high ... it was at 4bar!!

i'd been running this way for a year or so ... sometime pretty hard on tracks ....

the shop tuner tuned it back down to 3.2bars, afrs were then pretty normal-richish at 12.x ish ....

my question is, other than poor fuel consumption, are there any other long term negative side effects from this?

after the adjustment I got my sparks changed and we also did another dyno pull ...

power was up by 5hp .. torque no change ....

my car pulls 301.6hp on a hyper power 4 wheel roller dyno.

cheers!

ps. my car is quite stock with catback exhaust only. regulator was fixed due to defi fuel press gauge ...

no there shouldnt be any problem with running rich..i would think youll get a longer life out of the engine running rich and keeping temps lower because of it.
