what type of oil
what type of oil
I was talkin to an individual and he says that mobil 1 is known for causing buildup in the engine, is this true. He recommends royal purple, what are your opinions of this? I just changed mine, and used mobile 1.
Probably depends on how you drive your car for the best performance out of your oil.
After all if your like me and drive the evo casually with only a bit of spirited driving pretty much any synthetic oil will do. However if your a track junkie or a drag racer obviously the viscosities and different oils hold up better than say the cheaper synthetics used by me.
BTW I see that your in Anchorage which is well frankly bloody cold
I can't say I'd recommend 10w-30 synthetic in your climate. To be on the safe side of cold starting a 5-30w or 0-30 or 0-40 would probably be better

For casual driving really any synthetic will be appropriate. Typically wear doesn't happen until you reach the more extreme conditions of higher running temps and pressures seen with modified cars in track or drag racing.
If you know you plan on tracking or drag racing your car on some said date change out your oils to a higher grade at that time
