Would it be safe to assume?

Hey all, i'm currently in the market for an evo ix atm. I have a lot of friends who are encouraging me to go for the purchase and they all have an evo themselves. I am financially situated atm even though I am only 18. The reason I can safely say I am able to afford an evo IX is because of my work ethic (started working at 15), I put all my money into the bank instead of treating myself to simple pleasures, and I have a good background behind me with cars. I've previously owned a 98 integra GSR and have extensive experiencewith handling my car which includes taking my car to the track, i've even pitched in money with a friend to take a racing course lesson in Hawaii that showed me the fundamentals on how to control my car under certain circumstances (Apex point, brake zones, etc...) before they shut down the track due to too much street racing (IMO the worst thing they could have done). Sold my car with only 60,000 miles on it and I talked with the new owner just a couple days ago and he is shocked at why my car hasn't even given him any problems at 70,000 on it (Never dumped clutch, always in respective RPM's, only extreme conditions were on track and some spirited driving). Academically, I have no problems in school, I got a full ride scholarship to go to a university about 20 miles from me. The distance is great because I can actually live with my parents (In my own section of the duplex that was made to be a single room with kitchen, bathroom, and a seperate entrance ). So living expenses, tuition, books, and food are all covered.

Now, back to the subject, i'm looking at getting an EVO IX MR SE due to the fact that I got a great deal on it. I talked with a dealer close to me and was able to haggle them down to $33,000 for a Tarmac Black Evo IX MR SE. The problem is, I need to wait until my senior year in high-school is over so that I can actually get time to go back to the dealership, do the financial process, insurance, etc... (going to school from 7:00am - 2:30pm then work from 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm). Would it be safe to assume that I might be able to still have a chance at getting an MR SE by the time summer comes by? All the dealers i've talked to say they are selling the evo's left and right like hotcakes, around 10 a month easily. Anyways, i'll wrap this up and say EvoM is a great community, i've learned a lot, and I respect you guys for what you've done, just looking to get a little judgement passed onto me in any way (even if you still think i'm too young to handle an evo) . Thanks in advance guys.

I say if you can afford it then I would get it!! You will not be disappointed! But do not feel rushed by the dealerships, they will not run out of them by summer. You might just have to either go a little distance or have it shipped to you. Good luck with the purchase.

Insurance is high, tires wear fast and stockers are expensive, take care of the clutch...VERY expensive to get replaced on the MR.

Remember to factor in your maint. cost on top of monthly payments and see if it fits in your budget...

If so...your good to go. The Evo is a very enjoyable car in so many ways.

i think u just need reasurance. you sound like you know what you want. i say go for it. and you shouldn't worry about stock on the MR SE. you might not get the color you want and if you really want the TB then you just might have to do some talking with the dealers to get one shipped. happy shopping

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate the feedback. I try not to look too deep into the color dillema, i'll try to be happy with either WW, TB, or GG. Right now insurance might spike a little, but with the benefits rolling in such as good driver, taking a defensive road course, online driving software (15% off hell yea), and having my dad have the evo under his name is great. I'm still trying to be cautious though because of the fact that I might not cause the accident, but the retarded drivers not paying attention. Had a horrible incident today, dumb *** lady wasn't paying attention in her Navigator because she was too occupied (I'm am being TOTALLY serious) putting on lipstick with a phone held with her shoulder while she was holding onto her dog who was on the front of her dash while she was driving with what looked like her knee, did I mention she had avators on. Luckily i slammed on my brakes before she noticed that I was in the intersection while she had a red, just shook my head and drove off cause i'm too nice .

I have had the same thoughts about rushing to get the Evo IX before they run out. The only Mitsu dealer near me who actually has any Evo's on the lot has five left. So I was feeling a bit rushed, when I decided to check out www southcoastmitsubishi com - those guys have over 100 in stock! I'm sure that in the entire dealer system there are enough to go around by the time you are ready. Don't let any dealer pressure you into doing something when you aren't totally prepared or when the timing isn't right for YOU. That's my advice.

As for your selection on the car, I agree totally! The Evo definitely rocks! (Can't wait to get mine this spring or summer!)
