How much power can a stock block take? I am trying to get a rough idea of how much I need to spend to achieve 500whp. I know that the turbo on a IX will max out at 350 whp so I know a turbo upgrade is needed for 500whp. When you have to open up the motor to improve the internals it starts getting expensive.

 

A IX ran do better than 350whp on a dyno jet... There are even several 8's with 370-380whp on stock turbo.

I would say the max with all bolt-ons for a IX is around 400whp. Then you can always add meth...

Anyway there are many 500+ awhp evos on stock blocks... However I wouldn't recommend it, for long anyway...

Your most likely going to need a 50trim, 30r, 35r or so turbo. With either race gas, or meth injection. Otherwise you can probably make around that power with pump gas, tons of lag, and a small power bad on a gt35r..
