I have a question, what if you have a 2.75 cbe and dp, would a 3" hfc work just fine?

It certainly wouldn't hurt, although you'll get the same performance from a 2.75" HFC or TP - which are usually slightly cheaper. The worst bottleneck occurs at the DP/cat connection. As long as the cat is the same or larger in diamerter as the downpipe you're cool.

Thanks Rich. So what did you do to match a 2.75 downpipe to the (I presume) 2.5inch cat and then to a (yet again I presume) 3 inch cat back. That would be a nightmare of mismatched pipes.

No my setup used to be 2.75" Blitz DP, 3" Perrin HFC, and a 3" Fujitsubo Cat Back. It actually all fit together fine. I just upgraded my DP to the Perrin 3" to gain a 1/4" and match the 3" Perrin HFC. Now my TBE is full 3".
