Best Street Coilovers ?
Best Street Coilovers ?
After hours of searching i have narrowed it down to these 6 which are in my price range, i definetly want to lower my car and improve handling but dont want to break my back as over here there are alot of bad roads and this is my daily driver. I only go to the track a few times a year and 1/4 mile few times aswell, so i want my set up to me more street orientated but have better performance than my EVO IX MR set up, i also want them to last at least 2 years before i have to rebuild them. Which of the below would you guys recommened ??
#JIC FLT-A2
#HKS HYPERMAX II
#HKS HYPERMAX RS
#CUSCO ZERO 2
#TANABE PRO SEVEN
#KW VARIANT 3
please help guys i cant make up my mind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard good things about Bilstein... very good ride quality.

I went with the Tanabe because I originally wanted teins for the edfc capability, but I wanted a stiffer spring than what came on the mono flex. Now I have stiffer springs with in cabin damping adjustability with the TEAS.

JDM (and the low budget Chinese) style coilovers are generally much stiffer riding and very short travel when compared to the European coilovers.
Cusco's ride pretty well compared to the other Japanese coilovers, but aren't rebuildable stateside, so you're limiting yourself there big time.
KW Variant 3 coilovers with custom rates will be very hard to beat, and are rebuildable stateside with a ton of support over here.

Thought I'd throw out on more for you to do your own research on. Bc Racing has a model called the BR series for our evo's and Evom actually just did a review on these on the main page

Suprising enough they haven't been talked about much here, but the Sti and wrx guys over at nasioc have been using them quite a bit and nothing but great reviews and feedback on them. I decided to try them out myself after riding in a sti with them. I'm extremely happy I did as it has all the features, camber plate, pillowball mounts, 30 adjustments. But I was sold when I found out that no matter how low I wanted to go with the drop, the shock travel was not going to be affected unlike other kits. The ride is not rough, my wife atleast would have complained already
But when you start hitting some twisty's it's like a whole new feel. Like they come alive. Hard to explain, they just feel great. Don't mean to make your decision harder, but I thought most of you are probably like me (on a budget, but don't want to settle for less performance for the price). Like I said read around, it could save you some $$$ for other goodies

KW for sure...thats what I would go with if I had the c/o money right now. Good street/track setup, I have ridden in an MR that was set up by Robi with KW V3's. They wont break the bank either.
