Anyone run there car without one? I just took mine off to repaint it and was wondering if I should put it back on. Is it a good idea to run without the vent? Whether its on or off water will get in the engine when it rains anyway.

 

I wouldn't recommend it. Everytime I run for awhile, I can see the heat coming from the vent as the turbo is right underneath it. Even if you drive for 10-15 min and you touch the vent, it is literally burning. If you have any aftermarket parts, I would highly recommend not to take it out.

I wouldnt take it out, but my friend did and he hasnt had any problems so.

 

took mine out, doent hurt at all but cools better

 

less water will enter the engine bay with the vent on.

when driving the vents are designed to pull heat out as air passes over the top
