hey evo.m crew, after many many months of researching forums, talking to car enthusiasts, test driving various cars and resisting the X, i finally went to the dealer this afternoon and signed off on a IX!!!

i know im gonna love this car to death and ive worked hard to earn it, im just feeling so guilty to be in the position to get myself into such a high performance vehicle to enjoy. im a driver through and through and this is such a drivers car.

just wanted to share with someone - the cyber world anyway!

Don't worry and dont feel guilty! You just bought a badass car! The guilt will be wiped away when you start driving it. No headaches, just take care of your new IX and you'll be fine....

U got it mang, sweet choice, fun = yes, headache I think will be when you get the mod bug and IT WILL NOT STOP AND LET YOU GO eva. My gosh, freakin addiction man. You'll see,...it's like holding a wolf by the ears, ...scary and exciting to hold on, but do not dare to let go.

as for addiction, its already started bro, have had quite a few sleepless nights and mornings thinking about mods. was hoping by getting the car i would be able to chill out.

 

why do you feel guilty? does your wapce/wife not know about the purchase?

 

no, its not that at all. i know this sounds soppy, but i just know there are alot of people who dont have the chance to purchase such a car and would love to. given there are those who think an evo is nothing but to me, its a real nice gift to be able to indulge in. and for all those who arent aware, owning an evo is definately an indulgence.

 

Being from Australia, did you ever think about a commodore hsv gts?

ahh, you know your GM cars, the HSV is badged as a pontiac G8 or GTO. not my type of car at all. big, heavy, muscle car. nothing like the agile on rails evo. not even close...

Nice description of the Holdens! I think you Aussies have more choices then we do in the U.S. when it comes to sick powered cars. In the end, you couldn't have made a better choice. The Evo never grows old. Now...please give us some pics when you get it so we can see that sweet right-hand drive Evo. Congrats!
