Manual Transmission

I want to learn how to drive a manual. Can I pick it up by just reading it online and watching videos? How did you guys learn? Is it hard to pick up?

Nope none of the above... you need to drive it and get a feel for it. It's the old pracitce makes perfect on this one.

Its sorta like learning how to play baseball online.

While you can learn the rules, moves, and plays once you get up to bat I guarantee you wish you had practiced

Judging by your profile here you need to take care of more important issues first though...

Remember learning to ride a bike? Same thing here.

My first time out I was shifting like a pro in parking lot--but scared to death of the streets. I stalled, rolled back on hills, freaked out, and swore I would give up--but I got back on the horse.

Just give it time and don't give up.

imo awd is the most difficult platform to drive smoothly for obvious reasons

get a cheap honda crx or something and teach yourself...simply thinking you know how will do nothing for you
