Well my children... today my parents came home...and with them, they had a car! for me! haha it's not a but it's a 02 Pontiac Grand Am, my parents came home today, and came inside, and were like "it's in the driveway" so - yes... I have a new car, it's not exactly what I wanted, but hey, they bought it for me, so I have NO problem with it... I haven't gotten to drive it yet, It's a 5 Spd, and my mom doesn't trust me with it yet, but soon enough, I'm making her go out driving with me tomorrow. Anyways, just thought i'd post and say what's up!

hey b go buy some :soapbox: because YOU STINK! haha just kidding

Just don't get too throttle happy. The police in VA are looking to crack down on speeders with the recent street racing accident.

Congrats on the new edition. There's no price than free

yeah, thanks mike! well I am DEFINITELY helping my parents pay for it! But... calm down kids...it's the Grand Am SE, it's 2.2 L 140 hp. and my first car, the probe was 157 hp! but, just for the record I'm not going to get in an accident over doing something stupid, because yes, I've had 2 of my best friends do that and they're dead now, and One he's sitting at home as a vegetable, so I'm *very* careful!

GA's got a lotta power behind em...and to tell you the truth they're a lot safer than Lancers too. You could burn just about anyone with a US Lancer on the boards if you wanted, but like CuGSX said...take it easy on the throttle You'd be amazed what you get out of the new GA's. I used to drive an 88' LE with a 2.3 Quad 4....waaaaay different than the new ones and you'd be amazed how much they put down when you know how to coax the auto tranny just right. Anyway, sorry it's not a Lancer, but I guess you can still be our friend

Did anyone catch the article in the Wash. Post this morning? Had an article concerning street racing. I just moved to the VA area from Portland, OR and it's funny that Portland gets mentioned in just about everything I read, see or, hear. The streetracing scene there is not all that big, it's even worse in Seattle. Ppl there are racing during the days in normal freeway traffic!
There was a funny thing posted on nwstreetracing.com several months back. Evidently, someone got a hold of portland police sting op plans just before the ops started and it had everything, what was going to happen and how things should be handled plus, the police letterhead. This was all posted on the site.
Another funny thing that got posted on there was the burnout of the week. One of the police chiefs assistants had a unmarked crown vic as a official car for personal use. When "dad" was out of town the son "borrowed" the crown vic and had a friend video tape him doing donuts. This was posted on the site as well.

Yeah, i got to drive him for the first time today (he's a 5spd...and my other car was an auto) It does have a good pick-up (minus the time I stalled out!) hehe, I'm getting better with manual considering today was the first day on a car of my own , but ummm... I like it a lot, it's a real nice car, hopefully within the week or two I'll be able to drive it all the time (without parents) but not until I feel comfortable enough with the manual!
