Now I just need a set of KW3's at a decent price. Thanks for the input/advice guys. I think the suspension is up next.

I agree with Warr....go for the coilovers. Every time you turn a corner you'll be thanking yourself and you'll be ready for the track when you are ready.

going fast has much more to do with handling and drivers skills than power.

In fact if you have $3-600 left over from the coilovers, I'd do at least one preferably two rounds of the Evolution autocross driving school. It WILL make you a much better faster driver. And allow you to enjoy yourself in the bargain.

That's definately good advice. Thanks. Whenever I talk to people who track their Evos they've inevitably got their eyes on the next suspension part. It's mostly the daily drivers who have the unending lust for power - not that there's anything wrong with that.

You're missing out on a lot of money...mutual funds are probably the most overrated things in the market. Do yourself a favor, get outta the mutual funds and maybe invest in some ETFs...but if it were me I'd play with options.

Mine have been pretty good to me. There are lots of different mutual funds. I'm using a Wellington Fund offered through Vangaurd. I've also got stock though. I'm definately not putting all my eggs in one basket.

I would do brake pads, lines, fluid and a clutch. Even if your on the stocker, its inevitable that it will go out soon w/ 40k miles, and the cost of even a single organic clutch & installation can be a little overwhelming.

Not sure why you couldn't come close to doing both. Looks like you have a 9 turbo already. Couldn't you send it out to get the FP green treatment (long waits sometimes though). Then get some descent entry level coils? Megans or something along those lines? I know you would be cutting it close with installation of everything and alignment/balance. Just my 2 cents.

I only plan on doing coilovers once. I'd rather go for better quality (KW3, PSS9, etc) than have the slightest regret down the line somewhere. After you figure in camber plates and an alignment it's just over $2K if I install them myself.

Since your ultimate goal is tracking your car, why don't you just upgrade your brake system (better pads, ss lines, fluids) and use the remaing $ to sign up for trackdays?

That's what I am doing. You will be amazed how capable our cars (w/ stock suspension) at the track. The faster I am becoming, the more impressed I am with the car. It just sticks like a glue. Oh, don't worry about the power too much. I think you already have enough power to spank pretty much anything on the track.

Just wanted to bump this real quick. I ended up getting KW3 coilovers and Tein camber plates for an excellent price. With the remaining money I went for a WORKS short throw shifter and some Kartboy bushings. I still have a little left over and I'm strongly considering JAM no-tick lifters and some ARP head studs. The head studs are simple preventative maintenance since I'm boosting almost 26lbs on 100 octane. However I consider the new lifters a power mod since the stockers are gradually ticking louder and louder and, if not currently, will eventually register false knock to the knock sensor and power will suffer.
