Can someone please help me figure out what auto-x class to be in?

Ok, so today I placed 7th out of 16 in STU with my Evo IX. This is my second time auto-xing. I am not sure I am in the right class.
Only reason I am in STU is because my first time there I asked at registration what class I should run, they pointed at some old dude and said ask him. I did and gave him a rundown of my mods, he said STU.
I did a once over of the rule book and it reads like bad stereo instruction. I ran my daily driver wheels with my 265 tires my first time, and told the old dude I had wider tires. From what I understand 245 is max for AWD cars. Today I ran the stock wheels and Advans which even though are narrower performed a hell of a lot better than the Potenzas.
Mods are in my signature, I am confused, not many people at the track were helpful. I just want to make sure I am not in over my head in my class. And my class is overrun with STi's BTW.
Thanks!

Well, the rules may be tough, but you need to read them thoroughly. The classes to focus on for the Evo are AS, STU, BSP, and SM. You have too many mods for AS, so that's out. Then, your MBC alone kicks you out of STU. That leaves BSP and SM, both of which are even higher/harder classes than STU. You'd have to remove the MBC and run on stock boost while using your stock rims with no larger than 245s to stay in STU, or you can keep the MBC and use big rims/tires in BSP. You just can't do cams while in BSP nor touch the turbo. To be competitive in BSP, you'll need fat race tires.
This is what you should do:
1) Read the rules more thoroughly while focusing on the classes I listed
2) Find your region's local website and forum so that you can get help
3) Go to the Motorsports forum down below where we discuss autocross and even autocross classing for the Evo. Evo General was the wrong place to post
