Squeeeeeeeeeeeeek !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys i just picked up a new evo mr 06 . the car now has 600 miles and the f-ing front bakes are squeeling !! one thing i noticed is that it only happens when the brakes are hot never when cold, also its coming from the left front wheel.

the license plate frame is covering half of the air duct for the brakes, the hole that looks like a fog light...... has anyone encounter this problem??? hit me up if you did.

its no big deal, car is new, its going through the break in period, so don't worry about it its normal and also be gentle on them so they settle in properly, no hard braking

If you bed the pads properly it will minimize the squeal. That's the first thing I did when I got the car was go to an empty stretch of road and break them in. I only get squeal now when I am going very low speeds while parking and on the brake slightly.

hey i have a problem with my brakes too. i have an 04 and the rotors and pads look pretty good. i talked to a freind of mine and he said he had the same thing happen to him because he threw out the "backing plate"?? could that be the problem? how would i check? btw, the squeaking is only at low mph and even worse in reverse.

alright here's how you fix your problem, get higher quality brake pads, also, frequently braking to allow the brakes to heat up helps, and with bedding you have to allow the pads to grip so brake a lot when possible to allow them to settle in

spray some brake cleaner on them to get some of the dust off , it's not a guaranteed fix but worth a try

Yeah, this is really normal, to minimize though, bed in properly, get quality pads, make SURE you put the little plate with the arrow on new pads when you replace them, if you throw that thing out there gonna squeal.

2000 miles and mine do it also at slow speeds occasionally...seems to be normal.

^^^^^ Don't even try all of those cleaners and stuff. Trust me, won't work. New car & break in period = fast wear. If you're planning on a daily driver and no track - get AutoZone's ceramic brake pads for like $45 with 2 year warrenty

DO NOT DO THIS WITH THE WHEELS ON...IT WILL RUIN THE FINISH...good suggestion though.
