To Dubble, I don't want to go cheap and compromise integrity. The car would be built to endure road racing, so building up the stock internals (along with t-case, diff, and tranny) would definitely be a priority.

forgot to add, you'll need a clutch also. I wouldn't say this setup compromises integrity, but the harder you push parts, the more prone to failure they become. Plenty of people are making 500 whp on stock head, stock block, so compromise probably isn't quite the right word, this setup is just closer to the edge. I'm running pretty much this same setup, I'm at 62K miles on the odo with no parts failures yet.

To reach you're goal, you'll defintely need to upgrade the turbo to something larger. Unless you like nitrous.

First let me say that I hope you get every ounce of power you are looking for.

That being said, what is so magical about a 500 whp car? If it's going to be a track machine, it seems you should be looking as much on suspension as on power. Maybe try some driving classes too.

I will never have the kind of mods you are describing (I wish I could afford them). Maybe that's why I don't ever understand why we see dozens of posts saying "How can I get to 400 whp?" or "Will this get me 500 whp?". It's just a number. What you do with that power seems more important to me.

Whatever you do, good luck and we will all be interested in the build up.

Not new to road racing, DE's, track days, etc. I've done alot of it in my M3. I should probably have stated my intentions in the beginning; suspension and brakes are a given (at least to me). As to my 500whp mark? That's just a ballpark figure I've given myself; hopefully it would allow me to be more competitive against GT2, GT3, F360 and F430's, especially on long straights.
