Bam!!!
Bam!!!
I was driving on 2nd or 3rd gear, holding 3k rpm and all of a sudden i hear a bam!!! I left the car in neutral and got out of the car and did not notice anything wrong, so I kept driving. Still haven't noticed anything yet. I thought it might be my tires, but they still look good. My car is a bone stock ix with no mods. I read somewhere that that our cars usually run richer, so could it be backfire? Have any of you guys experienced this?
I barely had the car for a little over a month and its a weekend car, so this might be something im not use to.

I heard that same noise the other day, couldn't find anything. Couple of days later my windshield starts to crack, and I found that a boulder hit my window just below the wiper where I couldn't see it. Glad it wasn't the hood...
Backfire with the cat still in place?
What probably happened was your tires threw up a rock and it hit the inside of the fender well and you thought it was a "bam!!!11!one" instead of a "thud" that you would expect.

Drives and evo addicted to METH...LOL..That's good drftkngg. Anything vital to suspension or emissions had made that noise and you would have felt it while you were driving. 90GSX is right. It was probably something kicked up from the road or maybe the sound came from a car close to yours and you mistakened it for your own.
it was an empty residential street. not a pot hole because the street was flat and I looked behind after also. from what it looks, most likely a rock. The tires are sticky so it probably picked up a rock and launched it.
