Wierd RPM "event"?

I was driving hard through first and partially through second gear. When i pressed the clutch out of second to stop at a light the RPM's slowly dropped from roughly 6000 to around 4000 but stayed for about 5 or 6 seconds at 4000. Almost as if I was holding the accelerator or the pedal was stuck...totally confused? Anyone have any ideas, or a similar problem? Thanks in advance..

There's a built-in rev hang on 05/06s, but I've never heard of it holding at 4000rpm for 5-6 seconds. The rev hang is usually just a much slower decline - not a stationary thing.

update.

now RPM goes back to idle normally

cleaned TB and got rid of annoying p0505 and changed flywheel/clutch. don't know which one was the culprit though
