painted fmic

I painted my bremos with high temp paint because they were peeling and held up pretty well. I was wondering if painting the stock intercooler would effect the cooling properties of the intercooler. My intercooler is pretty chipped and fading bad as well.

thanks again.

I do believe it does. It makes another layer of material that heat needs to be transfered through. Theres a coating that apparently is designed specifically to help heat transfer though. Don't have any hard info on it, might be something to look into with a google search or sumthin.

Wow. 600 hp. Hmm. if I was pushing 600 hp, I think I would have a huge new FMIC. Good stuff bro.

it's a perrin FMIC. pretty huge IMO. I sprayed it black to match the car and it didn't affect a thing. A/F's are still totally consistant and the car runs strong every day.

I'm sure if you used the proper paint it wouldn't hurt the performance. I know in the suby community APS offers a black painted intercooler.
