high mileage reliability ?'s

i bought mine used and it has almost 38k on it now, im just curious as to how many miles evos aregenerally good for. obviously the way they are driven has alot to do with that but an average driver that gets on it from time to time should expect to get how many miles out of there evo? i couldnt find an answer in the search so any feedback will be appreciated thanks

Not only driving style/driver, but maintence plays a big part into the equation.

Unless you got a lemon, it'll last as long as you want it too. Evo's are performance cars, but it'll easily take you to 100k+ miles if you take care of it properly.

good topic as im potentially in the market for an evo.. the big concern with how did the previous owner drive/maintain it. i would think that a large % of evos get the crap beat out of them by their owners. a lot of young kids that dont know any better, and probably dont maintain them well. although im sure a good % of members on forums like these at least maintain their vehicles well due to being informed.. but these cars are not driven by grandma's.

102k miles @ 320whp and still doing track days.

1 head gasket, 1 water pump, 1 set of timing belts, dozens of oil changes, dozens of spark plug changes and too many sets of tires and brakes to count!

From seeing so many EVO's at my shop, the reliability has everything to do with your right foot! The more you beat on it, the less reliable it will become.

There is one here in the DC area with over 140K miles with lots of mods on and it still runs great.

Plenty of old DSM's out there with 150-200k+ , I am sure our EVO's will hold up too!

my 1g DSM, had 205k miles on her boosting 26psi on a PTE SC61 before I swapped the parts over my AWD. The 4g63 is a BEAST, just do oil changes and change the spark plugs every 2 oil changes or so.

After owning many DSM, I think they have bullet proof engines. But the little stuff bugs me. Argh.. Dam... broke my center console button again or why does my vortex generator flap...

I still love them.
