Now my question is how long are you going to be deployed for? In my case I had to be here 365 days boots on ground, if that's what you're looking at then save $16,000 if you can. Reason why I did it is because my payments a month from USAA is $268.00. I had to give that amount because I don't have any credit history nor do I have an excellent credit score due to that history. Anyways, a $268 a months payment is more then comfortable for that car and if you so wanted, a extra 6 months is all you would need to pay off the car, if you wanted! For a EVO IX Buschur Racing and Warrtalon have came up with an excellent package that would allow you to mod your EVO and make 330whp and put you in the low 12's for only $1,270 extra!

Warrtalon/Buschur Packages:
EVO IX a Warrtalon/Buschur Packages:
IX - $1270 = 330whp
VIII - $1575 = 300whp
12.26 @110.0 - 93oct WT/BR

Before I forget, remember that while you're deployed all your credit cards will go to 4% and no matter what your car interest will also go 6% so if you have any debt owed on a credit card or have high interest rates on another vehicle, being here will give you some slack for a year because that's how long they'll adjust your interest rates for! Anyways, I hope this helps, let me know if you need anymore information, I'll be glad to help!
First of all, I am not slated to deploy yet. I am a 68E E-4 and I have to go to AIT again to reclass and I will be leaving for Fort Sam Houston within the next 3-4 months and the deployment was just a what if and it may not happen soon. I just know that our unit got back in 2004. We are a dental company out of Ft Devens Mass, 455th. I am a reservist. I have $8,000 in DEBT not in the bank. I owe $5,000 on my accord and $3,000 on credit cards and personal loans. So how was your credit if you dont mind me asking? I am hoping that with the few dings I do have on my credit I can still get into an EVO, an X or a used EVO with say $15,000 down or so. I also thought of getting an X if they have a low enough model that would be priced at say $30,000 just to have the piece of mind that this is MY car. My credit score last time I checked was 598 and since then I have been late on a few things. I am 21. I hope it isn't the end for me. I havent been over 30 days late on anything yet but the past couple months have been tough for me and buying and EVO will only happen IF I deploy. Does USAA allow lenient financing for Active Army or Reserve? Considering they can take it right from your pay? UGH I want one, I need one. I sold my SRT-4 to get one. With the small amount of bills I do have what will I have for cash sitting in the bank when I get home? Think Ill get my EVO? I may even vol. to go once I am MOS Q'd. Well maybe not that haha

My apologies, I read wrong! The $8,000 you have in debt, if I were you, while you're in AIT, try to get ride of as much as you can. As far as volunteering and using the deployment, buying a brand new IX will become even harder, as the IX are becoming more and more limited. As for as the X being $30,000 I highly doubt that. Reason why I say that is because of all the extras it will be coming with not to mention it's new Technology's like its drive train and what not. Plus, a new IX right now is around $31,000, but maybe they'll make a RS model of the X, who knows... I'm a reservist too, but I'm taking a huge pay cut with this deployment as I'm a GS back home. Something's you should consider is that the EVO is an expensive car to maintain. Remember, buying tires you'll have to buy all four as you cannot rotate the tires like with some front wheel or rear wheel cars. Also brakes wear out pretty quick, mods can cause issues, so just keep that in mind. I was in a better situation since I had absolutely no debt, the EVO is my only car and also I was saving sorely for it! If I were you I would just hold back for now and wait for the X or if you can get rid of all your debt quickly, deploy, and look for a used VIII or IX at a reasonable price...

Well all I would have to do is sell my accord and there goes $5,000 of the debt. I would only have the EVO, I live in Maine so I can swing it. I understand it's a more expensive car to maintain but it's all relivant when it comes to buying something for say $17,000 and then modding the crap out of it, still not being happy and it still doesn't perform close to the evo after the total of $25,000 is invested. Vs. $25,000 for a used EVO. See what I mean?
