Question about Mitsubishi "troubles"

Hello all,

I keep seeing the same thing being repeated over and over in the boards, about Mitsubishi financial problems. (last ones posted in the past few days)

yet, in reading the 2007 Fiscal report of 2006 for Mitsubishi, 2006 was a record year for Mitsubishi, posting the first year in the black since they started to disclose records back in 1996.

Now, are people still responding to old information, or is there some huge cover-up going on in the fiscal reports?

Here's a quote from a report on the last financial report issued on Feb 6th 2007

Mitsubishi Motors posted an operating profit of 6.4 billion yen, 24.6 billion yen better than the same period last fiscal year. Factors contributing to this improvement include: the fact that the drop in overall sales volume had only a limited impact on profitability due to the greater ratio of built-up vehicles in overall volume; improved profitability of financial service operations in the United States; favorable foreign exchange rate movements; and, reductions in selling expenses.
So, whats with everyone talking about Mitsubishi being in trouble??

Mitsu has been having difficulties for many years but keep in mind that the car section is only one division of a very large compnay so good or bad results there are not indicative of the overall health of the company. As to the current health, my understanding is that car sales have been excellent but I have no idea about the rest of the company. I believe that there is also ongoing recovery from defaults in the financing division caused by poor loan choices.

I read up on the financial devision too. They are as well showing profits.

I think it's all been a question of people getting their info from this board only, and not reading outside information... Thus old information becomes the only information
