De-badging

Sorry to bring this up again but when i searched it seemed many ppl had different methods for this.

Whats the best way to remove the trunk Emblems on my evo?

The answers i found when i searched contradicted one another so please only post if you've actually removed the emblems using the method that you post.

Thanks

I just sprayed WD-40 on and around the badge and let it set for a while. Then I pulled the badge off. Now, I know that some people used the WD-40 to get the glue off but that took to long for me. I used some of my girlfriends finger nail polish remover.

Heat up the badge with a heat gun.

Slide dental floss behind the badge and slowly work down and back and forth.

After the badge comes off use your fingernail to remove the excess gunk.

Once most of the gunk is off use goo gone mild to remove any left over.

Wash the trunk lid and you are good to go.

Took the Mitsu symbol off with fishing line, took the "MR" off using my fingernail then I just pulled it off. Shine, then it is all good.

I wouldnt use fingernail polish remover because it contains acetone, which will easily dissolve your clear coat. Removes paint very well too...

Used the wife's hair dryer. Emblems came off nice and easy. A little WD-40 and a soft cloth to remove the residue.
Then wash and wax.

Thumbs up

Did it to mine.....easiest way without damage is to heat it up with a hairdryer.......use dental floss and take your time . If you heat up the adhesive long enough you can remove any excess by balling it up with your fingers.
