transfer case

Well everyone I think my TC might be going out but Im not sure. I have searched and searched and my car has the "whine" but im not 100% sure its the case. So its their like a test or something I could do to check and see if its the case? thanks

If it gets progressively louder as your speed increases and you can hear it over your exhaust then that is definitely the dreaded death whine.

the cars whines anyway thoguh... mine in 1st and second has been that way since day one. not sure if you can check other than flushing it out and looking for shavings.

I have this happining to me. I also would like to know... its a whine, and i cant realy pin-point where it is comming from. but it happens in 2nd and then keeps goin on throught every gear, i have a MR,but recently i got a full exhaust so i cant hear the noise anymore but i know its still there most people tell me its a gear that broek lose, or the TC is goin out.

My car has a little over 52,000 miles and I had all the fluids changed at 49,000 I dont really launch the car but I have been to the track twice once on a 1/8 and the other on a quarter.

a lil late on the fluids, but if you have whining after 2nd gear i know personally i would be worried and think TC. most evos have a normal wine, especially in 1st and a little in 2nd.

My buddy just got his TC replaced completely under warranty and he has coil overs, works tune, TBE, IC piping, new clutch, new strut bar, BOV, plus more.

Go to the right dealership and convert back to stock as much as possible!

can you hear the whine when sitting still or is it only when your driving and are decelerating

the whine when your standing still is your walbro FP (if u have one)

the pitch of the whine gets higher and louder the faster you go.

I have a fuel pump and its walbro but I dont understand why it would make that noises while im sitting still.
