car starting itself?!?

Ok so when i get to a gas station I go to switch the car on, but then I move it to the acc on position so I can still listen to the radio. My car shuts off and then restarts itself again. Is this because I dont give the car enough time for the motor to spin down? What gives? Seems like a dangerous situation if the car bucks or something.

My old GTI used to do that. When I shut it off and switched the ignition on without cranking the starter it would "self start". Turns out that the car was running rich and that when I shut it off there was excess fuel in the chambers. By switching the ignition on I provided enough juice to the plugs which caused the un-burnt fuel in the chambers to ignite.

Maybe you have a similar issue.

Turbo timer would keep the car running. long enought to burn the excess fuel. so that would be a good envestment. and could be the possibility of having TOO much fuel in there.
