Damn this thread is making miss PR. I lived in Fajardo, right around the corner from the El Conquistador, for the first year I was there. Then I moved into base housing on Roosevelt Rds. for the last 2 years. My wife and I have been talking about going back for vacation.

 

What years were you stationed at Roosey Roads?? My x husband was a YN2 while stationed there. I worked at MWR for almost 3 years before they closed.

You should come visit. Fajardo has grown alot. More businesses and apts. But still as beautiful.

 

My wife got there in Oct 99, and I got out of the Navy because they wouldn't co-locate us and went there to live with her in March of 00. We left in October of 02. She was an HM2 at the Hospital at the time and I worked at Ocean Enterprises dive shop right next to the marina.

We're hoping to get back soon. We miss it terribly, and there was still so much we didn't get to see or do. I'm so jealous that your there and I'm stuck in upstate NY for another year. It's currently 39°F outside in the middle of September.

 

if you worked at Ocean Enterprises then I may know you. Do you remember anyone from the Publicity Dept at MWR?? I worked Publicity and then ran the Liberty Program in the ITT building. lol small world.

 

I'm not sure I know anyone from the Publicity Dept at MWR. If you came in to the dive shop in that period I was there, than more than likely we've met. I was the only full-time guy working there at that time. Very small world indeed.
