Noob needs Boost checking
I just install boost gauge in my car and just want to see if im getting correct reading.
didnt push the car all the way(only around 5k)
3rd gear it was about 15psi
4th gear it was about 20psi top
when its idle, i get like 15-20 vaccum and around 3k it goes to 0(turbo lag till 3k right?)
also pressure dropped really quick right after I release the gas. Is this right?
thank you

You should verify what your peak boost is in your top two gears...especially 5th(or 6th, if it´s a 6-spd.). You´ll need tò push the car a bit more, as in doing a wide open throttle run. Take it up to at least 7000 RPM in 4th gear at WOT. This will allow turbo to creep or taper. I think that on IX´s in general, the boost from the factory is set a bit above 20 PSI.

You´re probably right on the factory boost setting for a IX. I really wouldn´t know as I drive an VIII. You can get a better idea of what your peak boost is, without having to reach such a high road speed if you floor it on an uphill slope in 4th.
