Evo 9 MR BOV ? ? ?
Ok I have an 06 Evo 9 MR. Currently I have the Turbo XS RFL BOV and am thinking about changing it back to stock as from what I am being told this aftermarket unit is not as good as the stock one and may cause some issues. That being said I am a little confused in relation to the stock MR 9 BOV as I see people listing a JDM Evo 9 MR BOV also. Is there a difference with the JDM Evo 9 MR BOV that I see most of the vendors listing versus ording a brand new Evo 9 MR BOV from my local dealer ?
Thanks in advance,
MarK.

Ok so the BOV on the US Evo 9 MR is in fact the same as the BOV listed as the JDM Evo 9 MR BOV then ? Sorry to be a pain, just want to clarify before I order the part and find out it's not what I wanted.
Secondly my upgrade path is as follows. I am going to go to Dyno Flash at some point soon and get an Exhaust, Filter, Fuel Pump and a Custom Tune. With this considered is my best bet still the stock MR 9 BOV or should I be looking for somthing else based on my upgrades. From what I have read it seams the Evo 9 MR BOV should be sufficient on the mods I mentioned but any further input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
MarK Solomon.

No their the same thing but your right stay away from the Turbo XS BOV I know a buddy that ran one on his Evo and it was horrible. The BOV yes was very loud but his car would always cut off and sputter around. When he would make the transition from say first to reverse or the other way around he would have to keep on the gas a hair to keep it from dyeing out. When approaching stop signs or red lights he would have to downshift he could not just put it in neutral because it would die out. Also the Evo 9 BOV is metal and much better.

I never thought I would say this...but you might want to do a search. I know it takes like 30 seconds, but you will find answers to your questions and then some.
Long story short--keep the MR 9 BOV until you go with a bigger turbo. Period.

All 8s came with plastic DVs, all 9s come with the highly praised JDM MR DV that's metal and holds boost very well until the 25psi level. Search in the for sale section for any 9 owners that are selling their stock unit.
Blu, the plastic DVs are entirely made with black plastic. If yours is metal and isn't black, you're good to go.
