I need to bring this thread back to life. I want to find a good setup for both the under-hood and base. I know I can get AMS/BR/SpeedSource for the under-hood but I am kinda feeling the kartboy (don't know if I want to deal with the possibility of seizing metal). Here's the catch... my Evo is a 6-speed. Any ideas (vender's feel free to chime in here). It does seem like the Kartboy setup is specifically 5-speed. What are my options?

the only people that make a short shifter for the MR are WORKS and they have to install it.

I'm not looking for a short-shifter... I just want the bushings.

i've had an 03 evo for a year and now an 06 for a year... BOTH had kartboy shift bushings for tranny linkage AND shift base. (polyure.) feel and fitment was good for the tranny linkage but the shift base fitment is really hit or miss. first time i had them they fit like a glove. but the second time around, it completely did not fit. i had to shave about 1mm all around(which is not acceptable!)

I dunno dude, I think they are all pretty much the same and give the same results. It's not like there's such a dramatic difference between the brands.

I have the Kartboys for my underhood bushings and love them. Just ensure you grease them before installing. It's not a necessity but it makes shifting during winter time easier. I actually just reinstalled mine today because I was tired of the spongey feeling of the OEM ones. It took me less than ten minutes.

so then is it safe to say that the kartboy setup for the underdhood and base shifter will fit a six speed? Even though they clearly state that they don't support six speed on the website? As far as the underhood linkage is concerned, I could just get the six speed speed source set. But for the base ... I'm thinking either shave/custom fit a set for the five speed...(I don't see why the sizes would vary but anyway) or just skip it all together.... again in an ideal world, I'd love to just get the whole set-up from Kartboy. But only if I know I can make it fit.
